Partners in Care holds numerous fundraising events around the country, such as golf tournaments, 5K runs and 2-mile walks, happy hours, galas, and much more. Our events are community-oriented and we rely on local businesses to sponsor our events. We encourage everyone to come out to our events. Many have fun games, chance drawing and silent auction prizes, family entertainment, celebrity guests, and gift bags.
Formally known as 21st Century C.A.R.E, Partners in Care is a not-for-profit charitable foundation established in 1996 by Dr. Charles Thomas, dedicated to cancer patients. The foundation provides patients with financial assistance for incidental expenses related to their cancer treatments. This allows the patient to put their focus where it belongs – on beating the disease.
Partners in Care offers financial assistance to cancer patients for incidental expenses related to their cancer treatments. The foundation offers partial or full payment of various expenses, such as:
- Gas, car service, or public transport to/from treatment
- Respite care in home or medical centers
- Medical supplies or equipment not covered by insurance
- Child care during treatment
- Lodging during treatment
- Food or groceries during treatment
- Cancer screenings
Applications can be completed online, faxed, or mailed. Once Partners in Care receives your application, someone will contact you to determine your exact needs and gather any additional information required. If approved, you will be contacted by phone or email. If you need help completing your application, contact us.
In order to qualify for assistance, you
- Must have a social security number
- Must have received a cancer diagnosis within the past 6 months
- Must be a legal resident of the United States and living or receiving treatment in one of the geographic area(s) noted below*:
AL, AR, CA, FL, IN, KY, MA, MO, NC, NV, OK, RI, SC, TX, WA & WV

Note: The patient’s physician on record will be contacted to verify eligibility.
There is a $300 maximum limit per patient, per year. This does not apply to special programs including:
- Scope for Hope – Colorectal Cancer (SWFL)
- Head & Neck Cancer
Once all the requested information is received, the application will be reviewed. If approved, you will be contacted by Partners in Care. Approval is made on a case-by-case basis by the Foundation Financial Assistance Committee. Assistance will be awarded without regard to race, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation. All information received will remain confidential.
