Financial Assistance
Every year over 800,000 Americans are diagnosed with cancer. And every year, more and more Americans beat the disease. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, many face challenges meeting out-of-pocket expenses related to the treatment they need.
These are the people Partners in Care can help. We provide assistance for incidental expenses related to cancer treatment. This allows the patient to put their focus where it belongs – on beating the disease.
Cancer Screenings
In many cases, cancers that are caught early can be cured. In some cases, such as with colorectal cancers, they can even be prevented. That’s why we offer free screenings for various types of cancers throughout the year. We strongly encourage everyone to follow national guidelines for cancer screening and attend our screening events. Find out about the next screening event near you.
Cancer Education
To improve outcomes, cancer education is crucial to both health care providers and cancer patients. We strive to offer health care providers the highest quality education on cancer through our national conference, the Fall Foliage Cancer Conference, held in Asheville, NC every fall. The faculty at this conference are known experts in their fields and it attracts attendees from all over the country. We also offer smaller, more intimate community-based conferences on cancer topics of interest to the local area.
The story of our mission.
In 1996, Dr. Charles Thomas, a Radiation Oncologist in Asheville, North Carolina, was bequeathed a generous sum of money by his patient to found a conference to educate local physicians about the latest in cancer treatments. The conference, our signature Fall Foliage Cancer Conference, continues to this day.
In 2007, the foundation expanded to include financial assistance, cancer screenings, support groups for patients as well as additional educational programs. Today, the foundation serves patients in 18 states. Our goal is to continuously expand to provide support to patients so that they can have one less thing to worry about during their fight against cancer.
